Customer Review:
This is perhaps Goldsworthy's most elegiac and moving book, a profound meditation on time and change. If you like his work, you won't be disappointed. This volume and "A Collaboration with Nature" are wonderful and permanent sources of inspiration.

Rating: 4.8 / 5.0
Customer Review:
It's a big and invigorating book. If you like earth art this book (and there are others) offers some of the best of Goldsworthy. The concepts and execution are as inventive as they are cerebral. While I've never seen his work in person the photos and narrative of this book really feel like they... more info

A truly beautiful book, with rich photographs and nice summaries. Inspiring to the last page - and particularly useful for igniting one's creative juices. A small note to the Amazon reviewer: Andy Goldsworthy was born in England in 1956. He lives in Penpont, Scotland, but is English - not Scottish.

Andy Goldsworthy: A Collaboration with Nature

By: Andrew Goldsworthy, Andy Goldsworthy
From: Harry N Abrams
Released: September, 1990
Rating: 4.9 / 5.0
Customer Review:
Beautiful coffee-table art book in which the artist/photographer uses the "found objects" of nature: leaves, stones, ice, snow, feathers, etc. to create amazing temporary works of art. These are then photographed before the elements return the materials to their natural state. It doesn't sound like... more info

If you've ever wondered at the line " I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree." Andy Goldsworthy can help. His sculptures created from nature (ferns, ice, poppy petals, etc.) are some of the most breathtaking compositions I have ever seen. This is a grteat primer book on him. It... more info

Customer Review:
Imagine that you're a giant playing with pebbles in your backyard. There's a big puddle nearby, and a lot of weeds. You idly pick up pebble after pebble, placing them gently one on top of the other, winding what ends up being a wall through the weeds until it gets to the edge of the puddle. That's... more info

Midsummer Snowballs

By: Andy Goldsworthy, Judith Collins
From: Harry N Abrams
Released: November, 2001
Rating: 5.0 / 5.0
Customer Review:
What I love about this book is that Goldsworthy moved his art to the city streets, which gives it a totally different context and impact, but equally as imaginative and startling as his earlier work. The public's reaction, as documented in the many excellent photos, ranged from wonder to hilarity to... more info

Arch

Customer Review:
There may be more imaginative artists than Andy Goldsworthy, but I can't think of any who use natural materials in natural settings in such an astonishingly effective manner. In "Arch," Goldsworthy traces--through photographs and a sort of diary--the movement of a sandstone arch through the... more info
